3rd Year Blog

We reach the end of the first half term at Hampton in high spirits in the Third Year. Boys have paid £2 each today to wear “mufti” and all funds raised are going towards our new Form Charity partners: SPEAR, Anthony Nolan and StreetInvest. The whole School heard earlier this week in an Assembly about the charitable work done in the community by each of these organisations.

As we come to the end of the week, this blogger would like to wish everyone a relaxing and enjoyable half term break. Best wishes to all those who are heading out on School trips, including Mr Studt who is already in Berlin with a collection of German students.

And finally, a reminder to send your news items and sports reports to for inclusion in this weekly blog.

Teddy J (3J) has got a new haircut – hopefully not shorter than a grade 3 Teddy!?!

Mrs Bartholomew has recently marked some work by boys in 3A, which involved them writing A Day in the Life of a character from the novel “Tsotsi” by Athol Fugard. She says, “the standard was really high and the boys have, in the main, done an excellent job in terms of content and presentation!” Well done to all these boys for their excellent work. An impressive end to the half term in English.

Thank you to 3J’s mentor for reminding us that Nathan Newell turns 14 this week. We wish him a happy birthday!

3F gave Mr Rigby a big cheer for completing the Royal Parks Half Marathon in 1 hour 53 minutes in aid of Momentum (a local charity supporting families with chronically ill children). Miss Bradbury wasn’t so sure that this was an athletic “achievement” given her background as a GB rower.
