Third Year Blog

We start this week with an update from the aspiring political leaders of the future.

Model United Nations

Nayaaz H, Alex M and Archie Q (all 3J) represented Uruguay at the Reigate Model United Nations Conference last weekend.

They discussed topics ranging from obesity to cryptocurrencies and the status of New Caledonia.

Alex won an individual Highly Commended Award. As a group, they won the Highly Commended Group Award.

They all had a great time and learnt a huge amount about public speaking and the complexities of geopolitics. They hope to go to more MUN conferences throughout their time at Hampton.

In other news…

All boys in the Third Year had an interesting PSHE session this week with their Sixth Form mentors discussing the impact of the language they use with one another. The conversation revolved around the topical issue of “banter” and when it might cross a line. Form contracts were subsequently drawn up.

U14A Football vs Ardingly College

“An outstanding 8-0 Victory away from home. Goals from Ben B(2), Louis M, Jack D, Xander W (2), Freddie S and Marco F. Well done to Joe G for keeping a clean sheet.

A great start to the season, as we are still unbeaten.”

U14B Rugby vs RGS High Wycombe

“On the Saturday, we began the day with an early start, meeting at school at 8.45am. We spent nearly an hour on the coach on our way to play RGS. Once we arrived, we got changed and ran out onto our pitch. In the first half, we scored two tries. In the second half, we defended on our try line for a solid 5 minutes with Alfie and Leo making try saving tackles. For the rest of the match we were on the attack and the game finished 36-0.
