On Wednesday, we were all off on the Physics trip to the Winchester Science Centre. The boys all enjoyed a fascinating show in the (thankfully air-conditioned given the temperatures this week!) planetarium, stopping off at Mars and Uranus on an incredible voyage through the solar system and out into intergalactic deep space. We then had time to explore the museum’s interactive exhibits – the “Journey Through the Colon” walkway proving popular – before taking part in the K’Nex challenge. This task involved building the highest possible tower, but with a twist – it must be built in two halves with no verbal communication between the two teams. An intriguing challenge that threw up some interesting predicaments when it came time to join the two parts together! I hope that next week’s visit to Marwell Zoo is just as exciting.
Congratulations to our tennis players had a very successful day yesterday, winning the Surrey League title. Having qualified for the event by virtue of strong performances earlier in the season, the boys beat KCS in the semi-final, before winning 7-2 against St George’s College in the final. Many congratulations to Dominik Hagmann, Theo Mantel-Cooper, Ollie Drew, Henri Beauvilain, Nizar Al-Milli and William Heyes. I know their coach Mr Bett is very proud of their splendid achievement.
There was further Surrey-based sporting success on the Table Tennis front. Congratulations to Leanesh Sivakumar who won a silver medal for Spelthorne borough in the Under 10-12 competition at the Surrey Youth Games. Well done Leanesh!
On a final note, congratulations to our Tutee of the week: Conor McNeany. This is due to his continued positive, inquisitive approach to all aspects of School life, Mrs Peattie and senior staff were particularly impressed with his thoughtful, considered feedback yesterday when he was asked his opinion on a new School Policy. A great accolade Conor, congratulations.
