Creative Careers Day
Some of the top names in the creative industries shared their passion and expertise with Hampton boys during the inaugural Creative Careers Day.
Representatives from industries including: TV and radio, film, advertising, architecture and journalism ran bespoke workshops for small groups of pupils, giving an insight into their fields of work and advising on what boys can do immediately to start building up their CVs.
Television writer, Steven Moffat of Dr Who and Sherlock fame, explained to the pupils that ‘hard work’ goes a long way to helping you achieve your goal, whatever career path you choose to follow. Foreign correspondent, Christina Lamb also advised that creative jobs demand extra hours and dedication but the immense job satisfaction to be gained is worth all the effort. The speakers encouraged the Hampton pupils to follow their passion, with all extolling the wide range of rewards to be gained from the creative industries.
