Hampton Artists Excel
Hampton artists from all age groups have picked up plaudits for their recent artwork
In the Never Such Innocence Competition, a worldwide competition to mark the centenary of WW1, Cameron Hair was awarded First Place in the 11-14 category. His piece, a recreation of Paul Nash’s ‘We are Making a New World’ was singled out from hundreds of entries and Cameron was awarded £400 and was invited to the Prize-Winners Ceremony later this month.
The competition judges also awarded the following Hamptonians with ‘Specially Commended’ awards for their excellent linocut entries: Jamie Bird, Marcus Chan, Thomas Cross, Peter Godun, Joey Hibbert, Tanmay Thanawalla, Haris Williams, Leo Nathwani, Elliot Patient and Johnny Powell.
Head of Art, Karen Williams said the boys’ achievements reflect the hard work and effort that they had put in:
The work they produced showed great individuality and it is great to see them rewarded by the ‘Never Such Innocence’ Charity who were very impressed with all of the work from the School.
