Creative Careers – superb lineup!
Some of the top names in the creative industries are attending Hampton’s inaugural Creative Careers event to showcase to pupils the vast array of fascinating and wonderful careers in the creative industries.
The event on 19 June will be attended by leading figures in the creative professions, including journalism, film and broadcasting, computer game design, advertising, architecture and writing.
Hosted by internationally renowned Foreign Correspondent, Christina Lamb, the afternoon will commence with an introduction from industry guests, after which boys will be invited to join a range of workshops hosted by specialists from a range of professions, where they can learn more about the creative careers they are interested in.
Christina Lamb OBE: Foreign Affairs Correspondent for the Sunday Times as well as a Global Fellow for the Wilson Centre for International Affairs in Washington DC. Bestselling author and one of Britain’s leading foreign correspondents, Christina has been based in Islamabad and Rio de Janeiro for the Financial Times and Johannesburg and Washington for the Sunday Times
Steven Moffat OBE: TV writer and producer. Showrunner, writer and executive producer of the British television series Doctor Who and Sherlock
Sue Vertue: TV producer: Series Producer of Sherlock. Other credits include Mr Bean, The Vicar of Dibley, Coupling and Doctor Who
Chris Yeates: Graduated from Durham University with a First in English Literature. Now a published freelance writer who has travelled widely through Europe
Momotaro Ushido: Video-game designer. Concept artist in an AAA videogame studio
Josh Lowe: Reporter. Staff writer on respected political journal Newsweek, covering politics in Westminster, Brussels and across Europe
Ronnie Brown: Chief Creative Officer at internationally renowned marketing and advertising agency, Doremus
Stephen Moss: One of the UK’s leading nature writers, broadcasters and wildlife television producers
Gavin Sadler: Award-winning graphic and digital designer specialising in print, packaging and online medium. Brands include: Sharps Brewery, Exmoor Ales, Doombar and Kath Kidston
Kate Lowe: Fine Artist with an international market. Former Creative Director in advertising at Saatchi and Saatchi, JWT and Leo Burnett
Alex Lightman: Film Director who has worked on numerous short films, music videos, and promos. His feature-length directorial debut Tear Me Apart, was at the Austin International Film Festival and went on to be screened around the world
