Creative Writing Awards

Hampton’s inaugural Creative Writing Masterclasses and Awards Ceremony were a resounding success. Green Earth Award-winning author Saci Lloyd hosted Creative Workshops for students from First Year to Upper Sixth as well as judging entrants’ poetry, prose and play-scripts on the theme of ‘People and Places’.

In the evening, the competition finalists and their parents joined Saci Lloyd and staff for the Awards Ceremony in the library, where the Junior and Intermediate winners read their pieces, and Headmaster, Kevin Knibbs, read the winning poem from the Senior category entitled Little Soldiers by Jonny Fryer.

English Teacher, Tessa Bartholomew, who organised the event said:

Saci challenged boys across all year groups to think creatively about a range of different ideas and scenarios based around artificial intelligence and what the world will look like in the future. They responded brilliantly and wrote some excellent story openings and other extracts.
