Founders’ Day Sevens
There was some superb rugby on display at the 21st Hampton Founders’ Day Sevens.
The tournament showcased a number of the best sides in schoolboy rugby.
The teams were split into two groups of five, with the winners of each group facing each other in the Cup Final, and the runners-up contesting the Plate Final.
Remaining unbeaten, Hampton’s 1st VII and Cranleigh School topped their groups, setting up an exciting encounter in the Final. Meanwhile, St Paul’s Catholic College and Brighton College challenged each other in the Plate Final having performed impressively in their groups. In what was a tight encounter, Brighton won 26-24.
In the Cup Final, Hampton emulated last year’s performance beating Cranleigh 19-10 in a thrilling game, retaining the Founders’ Day Sevens title for the second year running.
