Sri Lanka Senior Cricket Tour
The Hampton Senior Tour to Sri Lanka was a rewarding cricketing and cultural experience. The boys played six games against tough opposition which helped them develop their skills in different conditions and against different styles of bowling. There were a number of excellent team and individual performances including two half-centuries from Cole Campbell and also strong contributions from Fourth Years Rahul Desai and Blake Cullen.
In their free time, the group visited the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage which has the largest herd of captive elephants in the world. The boys also braved a White Water Rafting expedition on the Kelani River,Kitulgala.
Head of Cricket, Mr Banerjee said the visit was an invaluable experience:
The tour was an enormous success. Playing tough cricket in different conditions took us out of our comfort zone and helped the boys improve their game. Our main aim was to learn various technical details in order to prepare for our summer term and things look very good indeed for the forthcoming season.
