Hampton debaters from Third Year to Upper Sixth attended the tenth annual Benenden Model United Nations conference. The day gave the boys a chance to develop their skills in oratory and diplomacy, having represented the delegations of Spain, Nigeria and Togo. They debated a number of topics prevalent in today’s world, including the integration of immigrants, the containment of the Zika virus and the militarisation of space.

Upper Sixth debaters Mikey Godsmark and Cameron Clark received the ‘Highly Commended’ award for their skills representing Spain.

Third Year, Josh Bartholomew believed that the day was a valuable experience, “The Benenden MUN Conference offered a very useful insight into the troubles surrounding us, and I feel like I understand world politics far better having experienced this event.”
