Welcome back! I hope that everyone in the First Year had an enjoyable half term. I am sure that there were sleep deficits to repay, old friends to catch up with, fun activities to do and exciting places to go.  I know that many of the boys I have spoken to took the opportunity to visit somewhere as part of ‘Project Explore’, and we look forward to seeing what follow up work will be produced as a result of these excursions. I hope that the boys re-join us feeling relaxed and refreshed. We have certainly got straight back into the swing of things, and we can look forward to a busy and exciting half term ahead.

The school’s remembrance assembly this week was a chance to reflect on the consequences of war, and I’m sure many of the boys will reflect on Mr Cook’s excellent lecture. I would like to congratulate a number of first years who took part in the prestigious school event. Tom Banks did an excellent job in his reading, and George Garofolo and Johnny Evans Hutchinson were part of the Chamber Choir who sang superbly.

Congratulations too, to William Aust for being Tutee of the Week. We have been very impressed by his all-round commitment and overall attitude to life at Hampton so far. Well done William

Mr T. Hill
