Last year’s A-level student scores best mark in the country

2015 leaver, Tim Hardy, achieved the highest mark in the country in the prestigious Cambridge Pre-U History examination.

Tim achieved exceptional A Level results, including a D1 grade in the Cambridge Pre-U History which exceeds an A* at A Level. He was delighted to hear of his success:

“The Pre-U course was very rewarding and gave us a good breadth of historical knowledge. Everyone found the exam stressful because the standards are very high. It was a big surprise and it feels great to have done this well and I am delighted to be rewarded in this way. I’d also like to thank my teachers here at Hampton because they played a big part in this achievement”

35 Hampton boys took the History paper, with 46% of those achieving results equivalent to, or above, an A* grade.

Writing to congratulate him, the Chief Executive of the Cambridge International Examinations board, Michael O’Sullivan, said:

“Topping the list of candidates in a Cambridge Pre-U subject is a performance of the very highest calibre. You have shown us truly outstanding ability.”

Tim is now studying Economics at Downing College, Cambridge.
